The Graces are going to the land of the gays and awesome burgers.By Grace Chu |
In 2004, a couple of dudes drove all around New Jersey for a hamburger. Grace Rosen and I are even more dedicated to the cause of burger hunting. In fact, we are going all the way to the west coast to sink our teeth into the best burgers in America.

This is an open call to west coast readers to disclose the rumored In N Out Burger secret menu. We will be in San Francisco starting this afternoon, and we will be hungry.
* As someone pointed out to me earlier, that is not an In N Out burger in the graphic. It is a White Castle burger. I am aware of this. I simply got tired of playing with Photoshop. I am sorry if I offended any foodies on the west coast. Please give me the secret menu anyway.

Yes, well. That little girlie sitting on the burger is cute, but we all know that’s a White Castle burger and not an In-N-Out burger, don’t we?!
From the secret menu, I suggest the cheeseburger (or Double Double, if you’re hungry) animal style, with fries — well done.
I usually can’t stomach their shakes after all that, but if you’re looking for a true In-N-Out experience, you’ve got to have a shake made with real ice cream… choose from chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry… OR if you are really brave, have them make your shake a Neopolitan.
That should put a few pounds on your bottoms for you…

Eveyone should write in and petition that Grace Chu and Grace Rosen should same-day ship some In-N-Out burgers to the other Graces, two of which are stuck in the deep-dish pizza mecca of the world.
The other option is eating a burger on our behalf.
GET A SHAKE.

OMG! If you’re coming to SF, e-mail me! I so wanna meet you!
You can go to the In ‘n Out in Fisherman’s Wharf (the only one in SF proper anyway).
If you really wanna raise your cholesterol count you can get a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 Animal style (kinda like a Double Double), plus the fries. And you have to get the strawberry shake, and of course look at the hidden Bible verse underneath your shake cup.

In & Out’s “secret” menu isn’t much of a secret. You can see the whole thing on their website. Enjoy!

If you didn’t catch it, you can get those fries Animal Styled too.
And get some Viet food while you’re here, I’m sure there is a serious lack of good down-home pho on the East Coast.
