Breaking! Library of Congress is archiving our Tweets. The downfall of civilization is nigh.By Grace Rooney |
Oh the Twitterverse was all atwitter with news that ALL unprotected Twitter accounts will be archived in the Library of Congress. Already Tweets have gone out pondering what anthropologists will think of us when they unearth the library of congress a la Planet of the Apes to read crazy random shit by some crazy and not so crazy random people from all over this globe of ours.

Now I know that I have over 6150 tweets, at 140 characters that is 120,540,000 characters of thoughts that have escaped my brain, landed on my keyboard and were sent out before I had the good sense to proofread my uncensored thoughts.
I have used Twitter to flirt in what was a wildly unsuccessful endeavor. I have used Twitter to be silly and banter with friends. I have used Twitter to show respect to famous people that have died and I have used Twitter to make friends that have been life savers when I have needed them most. Mostly I have used Twitter to be silly and blow off steam when the world just threatens to swallow you up. Seriously, one tweet about Kate Gosselin and suddenly you remember, your life is pretty damn good. I don’t have to remember the name of eight kids; criminy I would dance with the stars to, anything to get away from a bunch of kids that look too much like that jackass ex-husband of hers.
You would think with the number of Tweets I have sent that I wouldn’t have a favorite, but for today I do, now I don’t remember I tweeted this but it is still relevant today and that is why for now it is my favorite; I also performed maintenance on myself at 12 noon pacific time.
So GTS readers, what is your personal favorite tweet that will soon be part of history?

The Italian,
What is your favorite tweet that YOU tweeted. I know @Tweetsbian could tweet the alphabet and it would be your favorite tweet!

My fave public tweet of all time was –> here’s the fun italian
Because that’s when the Italian and I first met.
The fave (public) one I did was probably this one, cuz it was political and personal and a lot to fit into 140 –>
Is tapping a thumb ring on a subway pole the gay-girl equivalent of tapping your foot under a public stall? If so, I just totally got hit on

Your input that all tweets are stored in Library of
Congress is the most off the wall, statement anyone could make do your homework, before your spouting off at your keyboard, about something you have no intelligence about. Sorry to say but your incorrect, tweets aren’t stored. Get a life an get off the sofa and educate yourself, with some knowledge, all your doing is spreading gossip, get a life!!

We also operate the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program http://www.digitalpreservation.gov, which is pursuing a national strategy to collect, preserve and make available (significant digital content), especially information that is created in digital form only, for current and future generations.
In other words, if you’re looking for a place where important historical and other information in digital form should be preserved for the long haul, we’re it!

Dear chasingwym,
Your comment is super douche-y. You’re seriously going to insult the blogger, accusing her of being ignorant on this topic (one that was highly publicized and even confirmed by the Library of Congress), and then try to push your own website? Guess whose site I won’t be visiting? P.S. You’re the one who needs to get a life.

mmmh there’s a fight going on and nobody calls me?
I just love it when some people say get an education and they can’t even tell the difference between your and you’re.
And i guess we all know where to store chasingwym’s comment, don’t we?
